Staff portal

To all prospective staff,

Welcome to the staff portal of the SSUNS 2011 website. I would like to thank you all for your interest in the conference! SSUNS is among North America’s premier model United Nations conferences, run and organized entirely by McGill students and welcoming over 1,000 high school student delegates from around the world. It provides a venue for delegates to engage in an endless string of heated debates while simulating international organizations. This year, SSUNS will take place from November 10 until November 13, 2011.

SSUNS delegates deal with current global issues and concerns allowing them to build skills in negotiation and diplomacy, while developing their individual viewpoints and learning to make concessions to others. A major part of the conference lies in the logistics, Montreal’s attractions, and the entertainment events that SSUNS provides. As such, SSUNS could not operate without a committed team of staff members to ensure that delegates will have the most exciting, realistic and fruitful experience possible. There are numerous ways in which one can contribute to SSUNS including several coordinator positions available such as staff room coordinator, page coordinator, delegate resource center coordinator, gala coordinator and environmental coordinator. There are also many positions for dedicated individuals looking for a smaller time commitment such as pages, environmental sustainability, staff room and gala staff.

If you are interested in joining the staff team for SSUNS, you can contact me at staff@ssuns.org or call the International Relations Student Association of McGill University office at (514) 398 – 6916 and ask for me, Dana Al Zaben. SSUNS is an annual conference, and from past experience, I assure you that partaking in it in any form is a truly gratifying, enjoyable and educational experience. Throughout the conference and staff events, you will get the opportunity to meet other exceptional politically interested students, and become a part of McGill’s international relations community. Under this section of the portal you can find detailed information regarding staff events, coordinator positions, and updates regarding applications for each of the portfolios.

Application details for coordinator positions and for logistical staff will be released in the fall; so please check back soon for more information! I can’t wait to work with all of you towards making SSUNS stand out this year.

Warm Regards,

Dana Al Zaben
Chief of Staff 2011
