What's new?
This year SSUNS seeks to augment the conference experience by juxtaposing innovation with tradition and providing a unique experience in the city of Montréal.
- SSUNS Committees: This year’s committees include a blend of both staple committees on the circuit and more invigorating specialized agencies and crises, many of which will make their debut on the model UN circuit at SSUNS. We hope that each delegate will leave committee session galvanized to make a difference! Find out more about our committees highlights here.
- SSUNS e-commerce website: SSUNS is also proud to present the revamped website for your perusal, along with discussion forums for delegates to facilitate pre-conference discussion and debate.
- New training module: On Thursday evening, delegates will get the opportunity to participate in our new training module which will include workshops for attending delegates spanning topics from public speaking to lobbying to last minute research. Additionally, this year delegates will have the chance to submit their position papers to our staff for feedback and evaluation.
- Discover Montréal: On Saturday morning, delegates will have the chance to explore the city and its boroughs through different activities organized by the Secretariat including tours of the renowned McGill University. More information about our Montréal activities can be found here.
- SSUNS Curriculum Component: Even in the midst of many changes, SSUNS strives to retain education as its cornerstone. To this end, our new curriculum component includes a panel discussion on the relevance of model United Nations and how one can best integrate it into the high school curriculum.
- SSUNS Soirée: The Saturday evening of SSUNS is characterized by a gala celebration. A masquerade ball, and newly extended to include a dinner before the dance, this year’s gala promises to be unforgettable. The gala allows SSUNS to extend beyond committee session to foster relationships between the leaders of tomorrow, creating friendships that span North America and the world.
- Delegate-Staff Ratio: With an increased number of smaller committees, SSUNS hopes to provide an experience that is both educational and intimate. While our bigger committees have a delegate-staff ratio of 12:1, our crises will have a 1:1 ratio to best assist delegates in their endeavors as well as guide them through their research.
