Dear Potential Chair/Vice-Chair/Crisis Director,
Thank you for your interest in joining the SSUNS 2008 team!
Running a committee at the Secondary Schools' United N ations Symposium is a very rewarding experience. It's an opportunity to facilitate an engaging and exciting learning experience for high school delegates from all over Canada and the United States. At SSUNS, delegates will learn about and attempt to resolve the global issues that confront our world today.
SSUNS has a well-earned reputation for high-quality, innovative committees, due primarily to our staff. Without the creativity, hard work and dedication of IRSAM members, SSUNS would not be possible. I have no doubt that this year's SSUNS staff will continue to build upon the SSUNS' tradition of originality and excellence.
Below you will find a suggested list of committees, many of which we have not attempted at SSUNS for some time or ever before. However, please feel free to suggest your own ideas, as we are always looking for new committees. Please take a look at the list and see which of the committees most appeal to you. Once you have chosen the three committees that interest you, please fill in the Chair Application form and outline three topics, if applicable, for each committee you would like to simulate.
The deadline for submitting Chair/Vice-Chair/Crisis Director Applications is Tuesday, March 4th at 6 pm. You may leave them in the IRSAM Mailbox, Box 101 on the 4th floor of the Shatner Building, e-mail them to me at committees@ssuns.org, or hand them to me directly at any IRSAM meeting between now and the deadline.
Once again, thank you for your application! Please feel free to contact me with questions, comments, or concerns. I look forward to working with you in the near future.
Sincerely,
Allison McNeely Undersecretary-General, Committee Affairs
Secondary Schools' United Nations Synposium, 2008
