The Cola Wars (Coca-Cola vs. PepsiCo)
Committee Description
The year is 1893. For the past seven years, Jacob’s Pharmacy’s revolutionary beverage, “Coca-Cola,” has carved out a dominant position in the emerging soda industry. But its hold on the market is about to be challenged. Caleb’s Pharmacy has just introduced its own fizzy rival, a drink originally named “Brad’s Drink,” now known around the world as “Pepsi.”
This moment marks the beginning of a legendary rivalry , one that starts in the American South but soon stretches across borders and generations. Over the next 150 years, Coca-Cola and PepsiCo will engage in a high-stakes competition not only for dominance in the beverage industry, but also for cultural influence, market control, and global recognition.
In this committee, delegates step into the role of each brand’s Board of Directors, tasked with steering their company through a century and a half of corporate warfare. Your mission: increase your company’s stock value above that of your rival by making smart, forward-thinking decisions. Whether through bold advertising campaigns, clever brand positioning, or ambitious product development, the strategy is yours to define — but be warned: every decision comes with risk, and short-term gains can lead to long-term consequences.
As world events unfold, new regions and markets will open up for competition. What begins as a local rivalry will become a global battle for influence, shaped by historical shifts and consumer trends. Success will depend on how effectively you adapt, invest, and innovate.
With maps, stock trackers, and shifting dynamics at play, every round of decision-making counts. It’s a game of legacy, vision, and bold ambition. 150 years of cola wars await. Choose wisely , and may the best brand win.
