Introduction to SSUNS:

The Secondary School United Nations Symposium (SSUNS) is an annual moderated conference hosted by McGill University students since 1992 and has been successfully held for 32 years. As one of the oldest and largest youth platforms for international affairs in North America, SSUNS attracts more than 1,300 high school and Cégep students from more than 30 countries worldwide each year. SSUNS guides students to discuss the most pressing issues in the international community, such as climate change, social justice, and global governance, to cultivate an international outlook and critical thinking among the young generation. All of this is aimed at developing and fostering diplomatic communication for the future.

After more than 30 years of development, SSUNS has formed a strong global network of influence, attracted more than 300 faculty advisors to guide the whole process, and joined hands with UNICEF, the David Suzuki Foundation, and other international organizations to promote positive collaboration on our most pressing issues. During the conference, delegates practice leadership and cross-cultural communication skills through debate, collaboration, and innovative proposals, laying the groundwork for becoming future change agents in global governance.

WHY partner with SSUNS!

SSUNS' mission is to empower youth leaders, and we achieve this through meaningful actions. If college students are today's leaders, high school and CEGEP students are the true leaders of tomorrow. Partnering with SSUNS means directly empowering the leader of tomorrow.

SSUNS past partners include UN agencies, environmental pioneer David Suzuki, Canadian Ambassador to the UN, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and other prominent representatives. Consulates, Embassies, and these partners do the tangible work that we are simulating at SSUNS. This is why our young delegates are so connected with us as we offer a medium of the real world, which encompasses what these young minds are concerned about-- the same issues you work on! The conference not only develops delegates' international negotiation skills, but also shapes tomorrow's leaders in teamwork, project management, and positive leadership through the organizational practice of 300 McGill volunteers. Partners will be integrated into this talent development chain, building long-term brand recognition in the early stages of youth career development.

SSUNS invites forward-thinking organizations to join hands in creating a global incubation platform for youth leadership. Your support will empower thousands of students to become future leaders in positive change.
